Margarita

Salt on the rim, lime in the glass, tequila doing the rest — the Margarita is proof that the best cocktails need very little to be great. Whatever its true origin story (there are at least four competing legends), it has become the yardstick against which every other tequila drink is measured.

1. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of a glass and dip it in salt.
2. Fill a shaker with ice, then add the tequila, triple sec, and lime juice.
3. Shake well until well chilled.
4. Strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice.
5. Garnish with a lime wheel.
